What we do
On this page
The Public Service Commission is a key adviser and service provider for HR professionals within the Queensland public sector, offering strategic guidance to achieve positive workplace outcomes and ensuring a skilled and mobile workforce ready to serve Queenslanders.
We manage a broad range of functions including employment policies, executive recruitment, diversity initiatives, and internal communication, all aimed at promoting openness, transparency, and accountability in the public service.
Our roles under the Public Sector Act 2022
The Public Sector Act 2022, outlines our integral role—and the Public Sector Commissioner’s role—in bringing to life the Act’s vision for the Queensland Public Sector. A public sector that:
- is responsive to the community
- is active in reframing the relationship with Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Island peoples
- treats its employees fairly
- is high-performing and apolitical.
